Robotic Training Network Curriculum
The learner will start their training as a bedside assistant. After completing the online modules and passing all required quizzes, the learner will then participate in the dry labs. Dry labs may be grouped or separated. The learner may only participate in the operating room after successful completion of the dry lab checklist. Training at the console requires the learner to have successfully completed all Phase I material and assessments.
Curriculum
This is a structured curriculum for robotic surgical training. It consists of
multiple phases:
- Phase I covers bedside assistance
- Phase II covers the surgeon console
- Phase III (in development) is for ongoing maintenance of skills
Each phase includes self-guided learning, dry lab and operating room components. For each phase, there are specific assessments that your attendings/proctors will need to complete in order for you to move on within the training program. For items that are not assessed by an attending, you will be responsible for completing and documenting these tasks.
The training program is organized as below. You will have checklists to help organize and guide your progress within each phase.
